You may use the provided extractor to unpack the game archive to develop game mods. To repack the archive again use any standard ZIP utility like [https://www.7-zip.org/ 7-Zip] after you've finished your mod.

You may also click drag and drop the .SCS scs file onto the SCS Extractor to extract the files. For example drag Dragging the '''base.scs ''' file onto the SCS Extractor. This will then extract all the containing files into the current locationof SCS Extractor. You So to keep extracted content out of game's original directory, you should do this in create a separate folder to keep files tidy, just copy put SCS Extractor in there and then drag over the Base.scs file (for example) into a separate folder along with the scs extractor and then follow the above instructionyou want to extract.
